Structured content, like the name suggests, organizes the content. Semantic HTML then uses that structure and presents it a way that allows humans and machines to easily identify.

Why is it important to have structured content and semantic HTML in your web pages?

SEO can heavily be influenced by semantic HTML since it makes it easier for search engines to find and rank the content. Another reason can be just overal usability across devices, since you using the same structure and adding similar tags across devices. This practice can also argue for future proofing since our devices will evolve with emerging technologies.

Denis Jacobs:Interrogate. Personally I've actually already started pariticpating in interrogating my inner critic recently without even realizing I was doing it. I simply kept got fed up with myself and decided to stop and think about why. In that process I essentially questioned myself and I think I got a lot of clairity from that. I think after reading this article this connection helps me realize that my train of thought was actually a healthy practice and that I should be incorporating this habit into my life.
David McRaney:I think keeping in mind what the future me would want is a tool that I could incorporate into my daily life. Actively thinking about the choices I'm making currently forces me to question if I'm making the correct choice. As McRaney said, thinking about thinking is the right step in the right direction.
